Performance Parameters

How long is the recorded video?

For recording video time, you can choose one minute, two minutes or three minutes.

What is the loop-recording? And how does it work?

Each video segment is saved according to your selected loop recording duration. When the regular recording folder reaches 70% of total storage, new recordings will automatically overwrite the oldest ones, this ensures continuous recording without filling up the SD card.

Why only 1/2/3 minutes can be selected on the dash cam? Can't record for a long time?

Longer recording durations result in larger video files which may make it harder to locate specific moments. We recommend selecting 1-minute or 2-minute loops for the best experience.

Does the recorded video have sound?

If you open the menu and ensure that the audio option is enabled, the recording will include audio.

What is the use of G-sensor?

Equipped with a G-sensor, the dashcam automatically records and locks an emergency video when it detects a collision. You can adjust the G-sensor's sensitivity in the settings menu.

What temperature does the product support?

Our products support: -4°F~158°F

How to choose my memory card?

Memory Card Requirements: The read speed of the memory card should be higher than the write speed, with a minimum speed of 10MB/s. For optimal performance, use a Class 10 U3 microSD card (up to 256GB). When inserting the memory card into the dashcam for the first time, please format it using the dashcam's built-in formatting option.

What is the parking monitor of the dash cam? And how does it work?

This feature is only available when the dash cam is properly connected using a 3-wire Type-C hardwire kit. Once parking monitoring is activated, the camera turns off when the car is shut down but remains in impact detection mode. If acollision occurs, the camera will turn on automatically, record a 1-minute video, and then shut off.

What is the parking mode of the dash cam? And how does it work?

This feature is only available when the dash cam is properly connected using a 3-wire Type-C hardwire kit. Once Parking Mode is activated, the camera will continue low-power recording after you turn off and leave your vehicle.

Note: lf both Parking Mode and Parking Monitor are enabled, the dash cam will prioritize Parking Mode. Once the Parking Mode duration ends, it will switch to Parking Monitoring. If acollision occurs during Parking Mode, the dash cam will first complete its low-power recording before switching to Parking Monitor.

Installation and Usage

Do I need to delete files manually?

Since our dashcam features loop recording, the storage card will automatically delete the oldest recordings once it reaches full capacity, ensuring continuous video storage without the need for manual deletion. However, we recommend saving important videos to your computer or phone to prevent them from being overwritten. Note: Formatting the SD card will erase all stored videos.

Can I view the video remotely?

The Wi-Fi built into this dash cam is in local network mode(it does not support cellular data), meaning it cannot connect to the internet and does not support remote monitoring. The Wi-Fi function is only used to connect the dash cam to your phone via the app.

Note: The Wi-Fi range of the dash cam is limited to amaximum of 5 meters (approximately 16 feet). The closer your phone is to the dash cam, the stronger the Wi-Fi signal and the faster the speed. When connecting to the dash cam try to keep your phone as close as possible to ensure the best connection.

Can a power bank be used to power the dashcam?

If the external power supply provides at least 2.5A, you can use a power bank to power the dashcam. However, a power bank cannot sustain continuous operation, as the dashcam requires at least 2000mAh per hour. Additionally, prolonged use of a power bank at high temperatures may pose a fire hazard. Therefore, we do not recommend using a power bank as a long-term power source. It is best to use the original car charger cable or a hardwire kit for reliable power supply.

How to use electrostatic stickers?

Electrostatic stickers help attach the dashcam bracket to the windshield without directly sticking it to the glass, making removal and cleaning easier. Follow these steps for proper application:

Clean the Surface: Wipe the area on the windshield where the sticker will be placed using a semi-dry cloth. A microfiber or glasses cloth is recommended to prevent dust particles.

Apply a Thin Layer of Detergent Solution: Lightly dampen the glass with a mixture of water and a small amount of detergent.

Attach the Sticker: Peel the electrostatic sticker off its protective film and carefully place it onto the windshield.

Remove Air and Excess Water: Use a card to gently push out any trapped air and water, working from top to bottom.

Dry the Edges: Use an absorbent paper towel to remove any remaining moisture and ensure a bubble-free application.

Reusable: Electrostatic stickers can be removed and reused multiple times.

Why does the dashcam get hot when in use?

Our dashcam does not have a built-in battery, so it is normal for it to become warm during operation. This does not affect its performance or pose any safety risks. Please rest assured and use it with confidence.

I have set the dashcam's sensitivity to high. Why doesn't the G-sensor trigger even when I tap the car with my hand?

The G-sensor detects movement by measuring forces along the X (front and rear), Y (left and right), and Z (up and down) axes. It is designed to respond to the impact forces experienced during an accident or collision. Simply tapping the car or shaking it in one direction may not be enough to activate the sensor. We recommend testing it by shaking the dashcam itself by hand.

If the G-sensor sensitivity is set too high, it may trigger even when driving on slightly bumpy roads or when closing the car doors, which can quickly fill up the memory card.

Why does "Mass Storage" appear?

When the dashcam is connected to an external power supply using a USB cable that supports data transfer, the device enters Mass Storage Mode. In this mode, the dashcam functions as a storage device for data transfer and cannot perform other operations, such as recording.

To avoid this, we recommend using the original car charger or a USB cable that does not support data transfer mode.

How to Remove adhesive?

Use a cloth soaked in vinegar or alcohol to wipe off the adhesive. Once the vinegar has fully penetrated the adhesive, it will be easy to remove.

Heat Method: Use a hair dryer to apply heat to the adhesive, making it lose its stickiness. Then, scrape it off directly.

For Glass, Ceramics, and Tiles: Mix soap with a small amount of ammonia and turpentine to remove adhesive residue easily while leaving the surface smooth.

For Aged Adhesive: If the adhesive has been left for a long time, try rubbing it off with an eraser.

Effective WiFi usage distance

The connection between the dashcam and your phone relies on the dashcam’s built-in WiFi. If your phone is more than 16 feet (5 meters) away, the signal may weaken and eventually disconnect. Additionally, if the dashcam is turned off, the connection will be interrupted.

Why can't I connect to Wi-Fi?

1. Ensure your phone is within 3 meters (10 feet) of the dashcam.
2. Double-check the Wi-Fi SSID and password.
3. Ensure no other devices are already connected to thedash cam's Wi-Fi. If so, disconnect them.
4. Turn off your phone's mobile data, security software, and VPN.

Why does my dash cam occasionally say "CardError" or "Please Format the SD Card"?

1. If this happens once every few months, it's normal. Just format the memory card as prompted. Since the dashcam records high-resolution videos continuously, the memory card endures heavy use, which may occasion-ally require formatting.
2. lf you receive this error frequently (e.g, every week or less), the memory card might be damaged. Replacing itwith a new high-quality memory card should resolve the issue.

Why does my dash cam keep rebooting or fail to start?

1. Make sure you're using the original charger and cable included in the package.
2. Remove the memory card, cables, and car charger, then reinstall them to check for any loose connections.
3. Use the reset button (R) near the TF card slot to restart the device.
4. If the problem persists, try connecting the dash cam toa 5V/2A power adapter using a Type-C cable.
5. If the dash cam turns on, the issue might be with the car charger or cable.
6. If it still won't turn on, the dash cam itself might be faulty.
For accessory or device issues, contact our support team. we'll help resolve it within 24 hours.

Dashcam does not turn on

If your dashcam fails to turn on, please follow these steps to check:
- If you are not using the original car charger, please switch to the original one and try again.
- If you are already using the original car charger, follow the steps below:
1. Try resetting the dashcam using the "reset" hole located at the bottom.
2. Unplug the memory card, rear camera cable, and car charger, then reinstall them. Check if the dashcam functions normally to rule out possible accessory short circuits.
3. Connect the dashcam to a computer using a USB cable to see if the front camera is working properly. (Seeing "Mass Storage" appear on the screen is normal in this case.)

Dashcam's screen freezes

1. If it is convenient, please provide a photo of your memory card so that we can better analyze the situation, and please try to remove the card and re-insert it.
2. Please format the memory card in the settings or format the memory card to "FAT32" on your computer. (Formatting the memory card will delete all the videos, so please save the important videos on your computer or cell phone in time.)
3. If the problem still exists after formatting the memory card, please try replacing the memory card with another one.

The GPS

Why is there no GPS signal?

1. Check for possible interference inside your car, such asmetallic window tint, radio antennas, or radar detectors
2. Ensure the GPS module is installed at least 20 cm away from the dash cam.
3. Move the car to an open area and check if the GPS iconon the screen turns green.
4. Once GPS acquires a signal, the location icon in the upper -right corner of the screen will turn green. If it's red.the device is still searching for satellites一please wait. You can also check the detailed GPS status under "System Settings" >"GPS Information". In clear weather and open areas, the dash cam should lock onto at least five satellites (indicated by five or more green signal bars).

Why is the time incorrect?

The dash cam features built-in GPS, which automatically adjusts the time based on your location and time zone. No manual adjustments are needed.

Why is the GPS and speed information not shown in the video?

The videos recorded by the R5 Pro dash cam contain GPS data. To view this information (driving route, speed, GoogleMaps), use the GXPlayer software on your computer. The GXPlayer allows you to view the driving route, speed, andother data, as well as track the journey on Google Maps.
1. Download GXPlayer
Free Windows version: http://www.sunningsoft.com/en/pcgps.html
2. Copy Video Files to Your computerUse a card reader to transfer the ".ts" video files from thedash cam's memory card to your computer.
3. Play Videos in GXPlayerOpen the ".ts" file in GXPlayer.
Note: Do not use videos exported via the "Viidure" app (they will be converted to .mp4 files, losing the GPS data)
